Hello to all the coaches in the RCS network!
Since we said goodbye at the Coaching Success Workshop last October, life has been a whirlwind on the personal front. Dianne and I have walked through the loss of four family members (an uncle, a sister-in-law, my father, and a step-brother) while also experiencing the joy of welcoming Morgan, our newly adopted six year-old grandson into the family. (He is the little guy on the far left of the family picture).
It has taken us this long to regain the emotional energy and margin to begin thinking again about growing Real Coaching Success. At the same time, we’re right in the middle of a complete kitchen gut and remodel, which is scheduled to be finished December 15, 2026.
Looking back, we’re very grateful we had the foresight not to host a Coaching Success Workshop this year. It was the right decision for this season. But, we are beginning to feel some renewed energy and excitement — and we’re already looking forward to hosting our next Coaching Success Workshop in October 2027.
Our coaching business, Lead Self Lead Others, is still going strong. We have a full slate of clients and are excited about several new opportunities on the horizon.
This month marks a special milestone for us: 20 years ago, we purchased the domain leadselfleadothers.com and began this coaching journey with a simple stretch goal — to earn an extra $350 – $500 a month so we could afford to buy a new car.
Well, we bought the car! But what we didn’t anticipate was how God would use this business for something much bigger. As the business grew, we were also able to increase our financial support of several missionaries around the world. (The photo is of Mi Lo and Dianne. Mi Lo is a missionary to Vietnam whom we have been privileged to support through the profits from our coaching business).
As we look back over these 20 years, we’re reminded that you never really know where a stretch goal might lead.
So our prayer and encouragement for you today is simple: Keep Dreaming. Keep setting new stretch goals for your coaching practice. Keep taking the next step. You never know where God may take you as you follow your coaching passion.
